There is plenty to do within a short distance of Greenacres, from horse riding at the Woodhouse Stables to long scenic walks through the countryside.
If you are an amateur cook, food lover, or small holder then The River Cottage Cookery School and Canteen is also not to be missed.
In our village of Marshwood we highly recommend the Bottle Inn, a 16th century thatched pub which serves real ales. The pub hosts the stinging nettle competition yearly, which is always good fun and within close walking distance. (The Inn is currently closed for a few weeks but is hopefully re-opening by mid June).
Being situated on the three counties of Dorset, Devon & Somerset there is much to see. Just a short car journey away we have Lyme Regis which boasts breath-taking scenery and a special mystique, making it a sparkling resort for all seasons.
Even closer than Lyme Regis is Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast and England’s only natural World Heritage Site, with magnificent views at every compass point.
Further west between Golden Cap and Lyme Regis, and only 8 miles from Greenacres, nestles the village of Charmouth, famous for its fossils and spectacular geology.
We highly recommend Beer in Devon, which is an old quaint fishing village with caves situated next to the village Branscombe.
